15 May Rebirth.
It’s Springtime in the UK right now and I am writing this on May day, a day most associated with the celebration of springtime fertility (according to Wiki).
The sun is making a welcome return, leaves are appearing on trees, Bluebells are out in force, Birds are nesting in the trees outside of my bedroom window and Calves and Lambs are being born all over the country. It’s a wonderful time of year AND we are about as far away from the miserable British winter as we can ever be (surely a cause to celebrate if ever there was one!)
I took a walk this afternoon (during which I took these images) and I got to thinking about Spring… about rebirth and renewal. The last few week’s have been very difficult on my family. We have lost someone we all cared very deeply for, in what were quite sudden and shocking circumstances. Often times people are fortunate to have the opportunity to say goodbye to those they love but this was not the case for us. We have however been able to console ourselves with the fact that our loved one knew just how much he meant to each and every one of us. We had actually spent a lot of time together over the last few months…. over Christmas, whilst working on a book project together and celebrating a special birthday. So whilst this has been tough to deal with, I know that nothing went unsaid between us and that is of great comfort.
