Normally a skyscraper is nothing special. This one looked different that’s why I took its picture.
Of course I had to include the palm trees. We are still in Los Angeles and the skyscraper is from 1971. 5900 Wilshire just opposite of the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Like with furniture or cars for me the quality of design peaked in the late 60s/early 70s. Seems that same is true for skyscrapers. A very beautiful building.
On the other side of the street there is an installation of old lampposts called Urban Lights. It has been installed in 2008 and while I think it’s not a highlight regarding creativity I can see its potential for photographers. There was a shooting going on while we passed the installation. Skinny ballerinas and lampposts.
We had still some time to kill before the museum opened so we walked around the area and passed a Japanese pavilion. An interesting building with a beautiful small garden. Somebody was sitting on the only bench, contemplating or just resting, I don’t know. It made a nice picture.
It’s not by chance that I finally continued to post some images of our 2016 vacation in California. I miss the sea and most of all I miss the sun and the blue skies.
