The XF 50mm f2 is a short telephoto prime lens for Fujifilm’s mirrorless X-series. Delivering a 75mm equivalent field-of-view, it’s perfect for portraits with blurred backgrounds or tighter urban and landscape views. It provides a much cheaper portrait option than the existing XF 56mm f1.2 lenses while still achieving attractive blurring effects. The twin 56mm f1.2 models remain the reigning Monarchs of the short telephotos for the X-series, but the newer XF 50mm f2 boasts a smaller and lighter barrel with weather sealing and quicker and quieter focusing – oh and don’t forget that cheaper price too.
