Yes the rumours were all true, there’s a brand new Instax format, and it’s square. The first camera that takes this new film is also pretty unique, the new SQ10 hybrid instant camera. It’s basically a combination of a Instax printer with a digital camera. You can preview your image on the 3″ LCD screen, add effects (exposure compensation, filters, vignetting) either in real time or after you take the image, save, or decide to print right away. The camera can even take a micro SD card to increase the amount of images you can store (internal memory can hold up to 50 images). The 28mm equivalent f/2.4 lens on a 1/4″ CMOS sensor takes images large enough to produce a solid 62 x 62mm square image area (on a 86 x 72mm film sheet).
