22 Jan Fujifilm GFX with M42 – Yashinon 50mm 1.9

Yikes on a bike, I didn’t think this wee little lens would have anything good to say. However the short stub of glass spoke up and rendered some nice treats. The old school lens in question is better known as the Yashinon 50mm f/1.9. While  comparing it to the common cheap Russian Helios 53mm isn’t certainly as chubby. (I’ll review the Helios in an upcoming blog post.) Both lens are M42 screw type.

How to use M42 lens on a Fujifilm GFX

To achieve connecting a M42 lens to the Fujifilm GFX50s I used not one adapter but two. Yes double adaptering (if that’s an actual word who knows). This liberal way of binding and stacking adapters gives you a lot of options. Most certainly if you still wish to shoot film too…
