Fuji X-T1 to Fuji X-T2 Upgrade

I have owned a Fuji X-T2 for exactly two months. I bought it to replace my Fuji X-T1 and yes, I guess I do suffer a little from G.A.S (Gear Acquisition Syndrome!)

Nikon D800 to Fuji

I came to the fuji camp from Nikon. At one time I owned a Nikon D3 and ‘Holy Trinity’ of Nikon glass. That is the 14-24mm f2.8, 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 VRII f2.8. These are big shoes to fill.

I switched to the Fuji X-T1 mostly because of the weight advantages. I saw myself as one of those photographers who always has a camera with them and this was something I struggled with when it came to the D3 and 24-70 and even after I ‘down-sized’ to the D800 I didn’t often take the ‘big’ camera out and about.

I started with an XE2 as a second camera and migrated completely to Fuji when the X-T1 arrived on the scene. In retrospect the X-T1 was a step back in functionality from the Nikon and I missed some of the functionality.  The X-T2 has addressed this shortfall.

Fuji X-T1 vs Fuji X-T2

This is not going to be the first ‘comparison’ you will have read and will not be the last but as I owned both cameras and shot as a hobbyist photographer with the X-T1 for two years I thought I’d share my observations.

The Fuji X-T1 is a very capable camera…..
