I used to own the excellent Fuji 16mm f1.4 but I replaced this lens (and the 23mm, 35mm and 56mm primes) with the Fuji 16-55mm zoom.

The 16-55mm is a ‘Prime Killer’ and makes for a good alternative. The 16-55mm is a little bulky and heavy and I was interested in the new 16mm f2.8 as a possible option to pair with the X-T3 for every day commuting (where size and weight is a factor)

The only thing I’ve really noted so far in testing is the difference in the minimum focusing distance.

The 16mm f1.4 focused so close that you would find that you were almost touching the subject with the edge of the lens hood.

The 16mm f2.8 is a shorter physical length lens with a larger close focusing distance 17cm vs 15cm which means that a focused…
