Honister Pass, The Lake District. Fuji XT2, ISO200, f/13, 1/40″, 18-55 Fuji lens

A few weeks back I visited the Lake District for what appeared to be a wash-out photo shoot. I started off near to Buttermere where it rained constantly. I moved on to Derwent water where the sun came out and was far too bright.

On the way between these two locations I forgot that we pulled over to take a few shots. The sky was heavy and the light momentarily broke, highlighting the road. At the time there was a string of classic cars coming down the hill but unfortunately we missed them. I had hoped to capture a Porsche or E-Type jag in the foreground but by the time these reached us the light had gone.

Despite the lack of a car in this image, the light shows the wonderful road of Honister Pass. It’s not quite as steep as Hardknott Pass but it still hits 1:4 (or 25% for you young uns). I love a classic road winding through the landscape.

Hope you like the image and have a great weekend.
