29 Sep Food shot with XF50mm F1.0

Source: Ivan Joshua Loh

We know the new Fujifilm XF50mm F1.0 is a speciality lens. And it’s created for portraiture. Today I decided to take this lens out of its comfort zone. I brought it for a food photography session with Fab Foods Collective. This company started during the COVID lockdown to provide fabulous food for home delivery. As what its IG mentions; Fresh, hearty, cooked in small batches, comfort food at its best. Do follow them at @bolognaiise ( Fab Foods Collective)
Some set-up for today’s shoot are shot with natural light. Others are with Broncolor lights set-up. For natural light; almost all shots are shot wide open and those with Broncolor lights, mostly at F8. I think this lens works brilliantly on both style. The only limitation is it MFD; which is at 60cm. So no close up shots; but it’s good enough for a decent whole frame shot. I will let the photos do the talking.

My weapon of choice; X-T4 + one and only XF50mm F1.0Getting ready. Slow but surely.X-T4, XF50mm F1.0 @F1.0Heirloom Tomato Tart.
