Luminar 4 Sky Replacement – Dunstanburgh Castle

I found an interesting sky earlier today when going over some old photos. I have paired it with a shot of Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland which seemed to fit the light.  I don’t usually save skies that have the sun in them as this tends to limit the use, or at least make it harder to incorporate.

This scene had the sun in it already and while I was tempted to round-trip to Photoshop to remove it I decided to complete all the edits in Luminar 4. In this case, I used the clone and stamp tool to erase the sun (and the suns reflection in the sea)

Technically I should add a new reflection in the water for the replaced sky but I don’t think it necessary in this case to produce a realistic scene.

The original sky was taken on the coast in Cornwall and seemed to suit the scene from Northumberland
